There are big fetish events all over the world now – and The Skin Two Rubber Ball was the event that started it all. In November 1992 in London, in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Crusaid, a young woman called Michelle Olley decided to hold the world’s biggest fetish party…

Skin Two had been putting on fetish events since 1983, but we had done nothing like this. No-one had. Never one to think small, Michelle booked Hammersmith Palais. It was big enough to hold 2,000 revellers. Little did we know we would pack the place with many more than that.

From the start, everyone piled on board to help. DJs. photographers, Art Directors, fashion people, models – the was a hell of a buzz. On the night, the show was epic. Bands, fashion, dance, the biggest fetish party ever seen.

We didn’t know it then, but this was the party that gave birth to the big fetish events across Europe and North America over the next twenty years.

Michelle’s article in this book tells the story so well, you feel you’re there. Jean Paul Gaultier had his photo taken (it’s in the book). Mick Jagger wore a false moustache.  Every drag queen in London made a special effort to look outrageous. Guests came from Japan, the USA, Australia, Hong Kong and all parts of Europe. A load of clubbers from Essex arrived in a tank, dressed in rubber and flying a flag (really).

This is the 52-page souvenir book of the first Skin Two Rubber Ball. It’s no longer available in print, but you can download it in PDF form to read on your iPad, tablet, or laptop for only £3. Fetish history!
