Skin Two issue 60 was a real one-off. It was not a magazine like the others - it was a beautifully printed hardcover coffee table book, printed on top quality paper and costing £25 / $50. We did it that way for a distributor and we were really proud of it. There's a lovely image by Will Santillo on the dust jacket and his stylish erotic photos are featured inside.
Skin Two issue 60 is a fetish yearbook, celebrating 2009 - a great year for me - covering parties in San Francisco, Detroit, Berlin, New York, Paris, London and Huddersfield (there was a reason).
There are serious feaures on sexual politics and censorship, plus a major interview with comic book legend Alan Moore and artist Melinda Gebbie, who had just pubkished their major work, 'Lost Girls'. The interview is by Michelle Olley, a long-time collaborator and friend of Skin Two.
Apart from the sensual photograhy of Will Santillo, there's more from Silent-View of Germany, James Stiles of Los Angeles and super bondage images from Mak Varley of London. There’s some great art too – graffiti from INSA and a roundup of Japanese pervery by Daryl Champion
Fiction too – and the best there is; a story by the one and only Patrick Califia
Skin Two 60 is quite unique - we’re not sure when we’ll do a coffee table book like this again. We thought they were all gone, but recently found a couple of boxes in a distributor's warehouse, where they have been since 2009! They are only a few so we're selling them for £4.99 (instead of £25)
A lovely piece of fetish history...
